AhlulBayt News Agency - More than 23 thousand people referred to the Hall of Foreign Books of Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi and took advantage of its various services during 2015.
The supervisor of the Hall of Foreign Books of Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi made the announcement and said, “More than 112 thousand books in 90 languages (other than Persian and Arabic) are available to enthusiasts in this hall”.
“More than 9 thousand books were lent by members, and 731 books were scanned in this Hall in this period” Hamid Reza Montazer Abadi added, pointing out that over the past year, 46,545 books were read by visitors of the Hall of Foreign Books of Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi.
“Additionally, 3168 new books added to the Hall sources and 6,043 labels and 443 barcodes are attached to its sources during 2015” he stated.
“English, French, Urdu, German and Russian languages have formed the main body of the languages of the books in this Hall. Moreover, the translation of the Holy Quran in 74 languages is available in this Hall” Montazer Abadi said, pointing out the establishment of the permanent exhibition of 90 languages sample books of the library in the entrance of the Hall.
“‘Holding the Prophet of Mercy book exhibition in 17 languages and preparing its brochures in the week of Vahdat (unity)’, ‘providing a number of brochures to introduce new books’, ‘removing the CDs from within the books, framing and attaching labels for giving to visitors’ and ‘preparing bibliographies and descriptive lists of the Qurans available in 74 languages (in progress)’ were the most important activities of the Hall over the past year” he reiterated.
“Services of the Hall are presented in two ways to visitors: lending and reading. Enthusiasts can also copy and scan the sources by notifying the Hall librarian” the supervisor of the Hall of Foreign Books of Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi stated.
It should be noted that Foreign Books Hall is located in the ground floor of the Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi at the opposite of the Hall of Researchers. On even days from 7:15 a.m. to 19 p.m. and on Sunday and Tuesday from 7:15 to 13:30 and on Thursday from 7:15 to 12:30 is open to students and aficionados of foreign language books.
